James "Jimbob" Smith

James “Jimbob” Robert Smith, 76, passed away peacefully at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center in Akron, Ohio. He was born on November 9, 1944, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, to James and Shirley Smith.
Jim grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1963. He retired from Classic Video.
Jim enjoyed baseball, bowling, and his dog Brutus.  He was a hometown fan. The Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers and Ohio State were the teams he loved to watch.
Jim is survived by his four wonderful sons Keith of Stow, OH, Tim (Willa) of New Franklin, OH, Gary (Lisa) of Monroe, NC, and Danny of Troy, NY; his brothers Jerry (Connie) of Akron, OH, and Mike (Cheryl) of NC; his grandchildren Scott (Molly), Christopher (Morgan), Tyler, and Derik; his great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents James and Shirley Smith.
The family would like to send out a special thank you to all the staff at the Akron General ICU that cared and comforted Jim and our family.  You are all amazing.  We would, also, like to thank the hospice care team, especially Jennifer, for your care and commitment to families.
A private graveside service was held at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.  Jim will have eternal rest close to his parents.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Haven of Rest Ministries, 75 E Market St, Akron, OH 44308. Condolences may be left on James Robert Smith’s online guest book hbm-fh.com.
