Joyce Nicolino

Joyce Marie Nicolino age 80, passed away surrounded by family at home in Tallmadge, Ohio on September 4, 2021.

Joyce is now with her husband, Mike and will be deeply missed by her brother, John Michael (Judy) Sidlosky; nephew, Charles Sidlosky; daughters Jean (Sam) McMakin and Sherri Nicolino; son, Mike (Mary) Nicolino; grandchildren, Joseph (Riann) Basile, Ann Marie (Danny) Humphreys, Michael (Laura) Basile, Julie (Matthew) Paul, Julian (Beth) Gutierrez, Sara (fiancé Jamal Alston) Gutierrez, Marco Gutierrez, Michael (Taylor) Nicolino, and Gia (Joe) Rienzi; 11 great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Born in Salem and raised in Akron, Ohio, Joyce graduated from East High School in 1959. She opened her own beauty salon called Nicki’s Hair Shoppe in the Ellet area in the late 70’s and enjoyed many new friendships over the multiple years of business. She will be lovingly remembered for her ability to make anyone feel like family. She was a devoted fan of the Cavaliers and loved LeBron James. She was at her happiest when she was shopping and spending time with friends, children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 27, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home, 936 N. Main St., Akron (corner of N. Main St. and Mildred Ave,).  Memorial Service will be 9:30 am, Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021at the funeral home.  Joyce's final resting place will be Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 11:15 am, Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
