Angeline P. Spidare (Calamaro), 87, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009. Angie was a life long resident of Akron, born to immigrants from Sicily. She graduated from South High School. She met her husband Bill before World War II and they were married when he returned from Army service. They enjoyed 55 years of a loving and happy marriage. She was a member of St. Monica Society of St. Anthony Church and the La Gioia Club. Friends and family remember how they loved big band music, dancing and playing cards. Angie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend that holds a special place in our hearts. Angie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill; parents, Frank and Carmela Calamaro; and sisters, Mary Calamaro, Sue Maiolo (Vincent) and Rose Oliverio. She is survived by her daughter, Patti Reynolds (Phil); son Michael Spidare (Fran); grand children; great-grand children; and sister, Jo Sabatino. The family would like to thank all those who provided home care during the last year and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Summa Hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, 9:30 am at St. Anthony Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON. Angie's final resting place will be Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
