Bernard E. Gobrogge Sr., 78, passed away Nov. 11, 2006. Born in Wyandotte, MI on October 9, 1928 to the late Herman and Meta (Pieper) Gobrogge, Bernard lived in the Cuyahoga Falls and Akron area all his life. Bernard was a faithful member of St. Martha Church. He also worked for the Chrysler Corp. for 30 years retiring in 1992, was a member of UAW Local 122, served in the US Navy During World War II and was a life member of Huff VFW Post 1062. Along with his parents, Bernard is preceded in death his loving wife Loretta. He is survived by his daughter, Constance Mitchell; sons, Michael Elkins, Benny (Janet) Gobrogge, Tim (Rosie) Elkins, Bernard (Veronica) Gobrogge Jr., and Mark (Lorrie) Gobrogge, 15 grandchildren; sister, Lorretta (Harold) Boik; and many other loving family and friends. Bernard's family would like to extend a very special thanks to all the staff at Akron City Hospital for all of their extraordinary care and support. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, 10:00 am at St. Martha Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON. Bernard's final resting place will be Northlawn Memorial Gardens were military rites will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Social Services.
