Betty June Blackburn

In Loving Memory of Betty Blackburn (March 8, 1930 – June 27, 2023)

Betty Blackburn, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 27th , 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Her life was a testament to strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and her faith.

She embarked on a journey of love and commitment when she married the love of her life, Henry Blackburn, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their two children, Russell and Sheree.

Betty's life was defined by her devotion to her family. As a mother, she poured boundless love and wisdom into her children, shaping them into compassionate, caring individuals. Tragically, Betty experienced the heart-wrenching loss of her son, Russell Blackburn, who preceded her in death. The pain she endured was immeasurable, but she found solace and strength in the cherished memories they shared.

Betty's legacy lives on through her beloved daughter, Sheree, who will forever carry her mother's spirit in her heart. The bond between them was unbreakable, a testament to the enduring love and support that Betty provided throughout her life.

Her role as a grandmother was one that brought her immense joy. Betty delighted in the presence of her five grandchildren, whose laughter and vitality breathed life into her world. She reveled in their accomplishments, cherishing every milestone and nurturing their dreams. Betty's love knew no bounds, and she delighted in being an integral part of their lives.

In addition to her grandchildren, Betty was blessed with the joy of witnessing her family grow through the arrival of ten great-grandchildren. Each child brought an additional wave of love and happiness into her life, and she embraced the role of a great-grandmother with open arms and an open heart.

Betty's circle of love extended beyond her immediate family. Her dear friend, Judy Lull, was a constant source of companionship and support throughout the years. Together, they shared countless memories and created an unbreakable bond. Judy provided Betty with comfort and laughter, reminding her of the beauty of friendship even during life's most challenging moments.

Betty Blackburn will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her unwavering love, and her selflessness. Her gentle presence and warm smile brightened the lives of all who knew her, and her absence leaves an indelible void in their hearts. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the impact she had on our lives.

A celebration of life will be at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 on August 11, 2023 with visiting hours from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and the service to start at 12:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor and pay tribute to Betty's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Betty's name to The Barry A Pfaff Lewy Body Dementia Research Fund at www.youfollowme.org as this cause held great significance to her and her family.

Although Betty Blackburn may no longer be physically present among us, her spirit will forever linger, guiding us and reminding us to treasure the bonds of family and friendship. May her soul find eternal peace, and may we find solace in the precious memories we shared with her.
