Betty Ruth Blizzard

Betty R. Blizzard, 95, loving mother and grandmother went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

Betty was born Saturday, November 13, 1926, to the late Harold and Lucerne (Stump) Frank. She lived most of her life in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from Alliance High School and worked as a telephone operator for a few years before devoting her time as a loving mother. Over the years, Betty worked with her family business, Blizzard Trophies, and volunteered at the Haven of Rest and Meals on Wheels. The most important decision Betty made was her acceptance of Our Lord and Savior in her early years with her late husband, Jack. Betty was a faithful member of Springfield Baptist Church where she taught the youth as a Bible schoolteacher for decades. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Betty is now reunited with her husband, Jack Blizzard; son, Robert Blizzard; and siblings, Bob, Dick, and Evelyn. She is survived by her daughter, Sandi (James) Memmer; grandchildren, Ashley and Bradley Memmer; longtime friend, Bertie Boughton; “second” daughter, Debbie Dressler, and her loving cats. 

Funeral service will be Thursday, August 11, 2022, 12:00 PM, with visitation ONE HOUR PRIOR (11:00 AM), at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home (Portage Lakes), 3326 Manchester Road, Akron, OH 44319, with Larry Baldridge Officiating. Betty’s final resting place will be Greenlawn Memorial Park.
