Bruce C. Hummel

Bruce C. Hummel of Barberton, Ohio passed unexpectedly on March 18, 2023. He was 62 years of age. Bruce was born in Barberton to Carolyn White and Ernest Hummel Jr.

Bruce attended Whiteford Schools in Ottawa Lake, Michigan. Upon graduating from high school, he attended VoTech in Detroit and graduated with a degree in auto mechanics. In 1986 Bruce enlisted in the Navy, while serving his country he became certified as a plumber, pipefitter and welder, these skills enabled him to become an employee of BWXT. Bruce was very proud of his employment with BWXT and if ever anyone would confuse BWXT with B&W he was very happy to correct their mistake!

Bruce was a gentle soul who loved his family, friends, cars and animals. He was always quick to help if someone was in need. Bruce took in two stray cats, Rosie and Shelby who, along with his dad, were there to greet him when he arrived in heaven. He was currently friends with a feral cat he named Buddy. (We will be looking for a home for Buddy, if we can catch him!)

Bruce was predeceased by his father, Ernest Hummel Jr., aka Curly. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Carolyn White; his sisters, Rhonda (Bill) McGuire and Traci (John) Wojdula; step-mother, Linda Hummel and step-sister, Siobhan (John) Vamosi; and much loved nieces and nephews, Justin, Jordan, Jenna, Eamon, Briana and Evan; and two great-nephews, John and Luke.

Calling Hours are Tuesday, March 28th, 2-4 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton Ohio 44203.
