Obituary for Carl W. Richards BATH TWP-Carl W. Richards, 79, passed away October 13, 2007. Carl's kind ways and gentle soul will be remembered by all who knew him. A great listener, he was always there for his family and friends with compassion. He also loved the outdoors and was an avid hiker. Born in Akron to the late Alvin and Mayme (Duffield) Richards, Carl lived in the Akron/Firestone Park areas all his life. Although he loved Archeology, he earned a Bachelor's Degree from Akron University in civil engineering. Soon after graduation, Carl worked as a Civil Engineer for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. for over 35 years. Carl is preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Nancy. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Anna (Cursio) Richards; children, Cynthia Gourley, Kathleen (Aldo) Zanier, and Robert (Kathleen) Richards all of Long Beach, CA; brothers, Alvin (Nina) Richards of Sarasota, FL and Jimmy Richards of Cuyahoga Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11:30am at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON with visitation 2 HOURS PRIOR TO SERVICE TIME. Carl's final resting place will be Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. Hilary Parish, 2750 W. God saw he was getting tired, And a cure was not to be; So, he put His arms around him, And whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched him suffer, And saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, We could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the Best!
