Charles Edward Holzer Jr.

Charles E. Holzer, Jr. "Chuck" 76, of Norton, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 5, 2023. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 5, 1947 to Charles, Sr. and Dorothy (Edelman) Holzer. Chuck was honored to serve in the U. S. Air Force with two tours of duty in Viet Nam. Upon returning home, he was able to attend the University of Pittsburgh earning a Bachelor's Degree in Speech and Hearing Science.  His education also included several courses in electronics and radio and TV repair. He was proud to have earned a lifetime FCC license. His work, mostly as an electronics technician, provided jobs for him in both industry and the private sector. Most recently at the University of Akron setting up, organizing and running the electronics lab in the Polymer Science Building. His work there aided several of the graduate students, helping them with major projects enabling them to attain their doctorate degrees. Retiring from there after 17 years, he had spent the last several years studying the Bible, enjoying his stereo system and having fun with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Ken; and his sister, Pat.  He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Kathy; his children, Alicia (Justin) Kalamets, Scott (Charlotte) Koltick, Nicole Koltick (Nate Cochran); precious grandchildren, Hannah, Jackson, Jacob, and Isabella Koltick, Matt and Quinn Kalamets and Otis Cochran; and many other loving family and friends.

Visitation will take place at Crossroads Community Church, 1055 Reimer Road, Wadsworth, Ohio on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 10 A.M. to 12 noon with a funeral service immediately following with Pastor Edward Largent officiating. Interment will take place at 10:45 A.M. on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse or Toys for Tots in memory of Chuck.
