Charles Lee Johnson

Charles L. Johnson, 89, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023. He was born on Monday, December 18, 1933 in Alliance, Ohio to the late Donald and Alma (Church) Johnson. Chuck was a 1951 graduate of Alliance High School. He was a member of the former Akron Baptist Temple and had many hobbies, including  hunting, fishing, flying, golf, trap shooting, and a hobby farm where he raised quarter horses. Chuck had a passionate love of animals, primarily his companion dogs.

Chuck was preceded in death by his son, Donald Johnson; and brother, Lewis Johnson.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janice; daughters, Jo Lea (Dennis) Shadley, Jeri Lynn (Robert) McNair; grandchildren, Derek Johnson, Geoffrey (Kay Lynn) Johnson and Jacob Johnson; great-grandchildren, Riley Jo Johnson and Emmett Johnson; many nieces, a nephew and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319, where a Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Marlboro Cemetery in Alliance, Ohio.
