Charles V. Spitali

Charles "Chuck" Spitali, 66, began his journey to Heaven Oct. 30, 2009. Chuck was born in Akron. He was a faithful member of St. Matthew Church and retired as Superintendent of the Maintenance Dept. of Summit Co. His favorite pastime was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Chuck is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Anna Burris; brothers-in-law, Ron Sinnot and Donald Bixler; mother-in-law, Dessie Shimko. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Charlotte (Shimko) Spitali; children, Michelle (Joe) Breiding; Vincent (Lisa) Spitali and Annie (Ryan) Spitali; grandchildren, Nina, Ellie, Gia, Kate, Brooke, Claire and Benjamin Charles; father-in-law Frank Shimko; sister, Phyllis Sinnot; sister-in-law, Sherry Bixler; special friends, Kathy and Denny Spardy and family; beloved dog, Max; kitty cat, Aerial; and many other loving family and friends. Release me, let me go When I am gone, release me, let me go, I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy we had so many years. I gave you my love and you only guess how much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown. But now it's time I traveled alone. So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a while that we must part. So bless those memories in your heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on. So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near. And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear all of my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home". A very special thank-you to Dr. Feunning, Nurse Cindy and all the staff on T2 and T3 at Akron City Hospital ICU and Father Michael Williamson. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Matthew Church, 2603 Benton Ave., Akron. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paws and Prayers, PO BOX 2864, Akron, OH 44309.
