Charles E. Winans, Jr.

Charles "Chuck" E. Winans, Jr., 89, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021.

Chuck was born on Tuesday, December 15, 1931 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Charles Sr. and Cora (Stackhouse) Winans and lived in the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls areas most of his life. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked for the US Postal Service and the NALC Local 148 over 30 years (mostly at the Maple Valley Branch). He graduated from Akron North High School, class of 1949 and loved bowling (especially his Stonehedge Bowling Leagues), and often frequented Farmer Boy’s, Tip Top, and Molly Browns.

Along with his parents, Chuck is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Winans; sister, Florence Jean Zinn; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Margarete (Varrecchia) Tullio; and sister-in-law, Carolyn McCary. He is survived by his two sons, Chad (Patti) and Christopher (Karen) Winans; daughter, Stephanie (Keith) Stewart; grandchildren, Karla (Anil), Aaron, Lilly, Cecilia, Ava, and Isabella; sisters-in-law, Toni Smith, and Adelaide (Jasper) LaRose; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home, 936 N. Main St., Akron (corner of N. Main St. and Mildred Ave.). Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
