Clifford E. Mealey, 73, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2020. He was born March 19, 1946 in Barberton, Ohio to Robert and Nettie Mealey. He worked for Universal Body Shop, Limestone Sales in Copley, BF Goodrich, and had 36 years of service at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He attended Grace Bible Church in New Franklin where he served as an usher and cooked breakfast for men’s monthly Bible study.
Cliff enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing with his friends in Myrtle Beach and playing cornhole.
He and Patricia enjoyed traveling and experiencing new things together. They enjoyed spending time with the Buick Club and volunteered many years at Local 2, United Steel Workers serving retirees at their monthly meetings, where he and his wife were well loved by his union brothers.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Nelson.
Cliff is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia; son, Michael (Denise) Mealey; two sisters, Patricia Howard and Pam Mealey; younger brother, Clem (Kelley) Mealey; cousins, Gene Inherst and Ricky Conrad; many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Special thanks to the Barberton ICU Team, especially Drs. Michael and Matthew Chandler, Dr. Erica Fields for the loving attention given to Cliff by his wonderful nurses, during his recent stay.
A celebration of Cliff’s life will be held at Grace Bible Church, 5781 Manchester Rd, New Franklin, OH 44319 on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 12 noon, with visitation from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, Pastor Jason Cox officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Bible Church for the International Welcome Center in memory of Clifford.
