Colleen Rose Conley Breen slipped peacefully back into the cosmos on August 17, 2022
Born December 05, 1953 in Akron, Ohio, she was predeceased by her father, Jim; mother, Sue; love of her life and husband, Tom; and a long list of beloved companion animals.
Her talent, intelligence, and empathetic nature were the pillars of her person and character. She was a healer, leader, teacher, multi-dimensional artist and a matriarch. She believed poetry, art, literature and music were critical elements of life.
A graduate of St. Vincent, Colleen went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She dedicated over 30 years to saving lives and caring for others.
She loved all creatures great and small, relished in nature’s beauty, and was a strong advocate of animal rights and the environment.
Her indisputable wit and ability to instantaneously deliver a verbal lashing with her silver tongue, rendering opponents speechless, made her a formidable presence and earned the admiration of many.
She was a fearless feminist with a special gift for influencing, protecting, enlightening, and guiding young people with love, humor, and life experience.
She preferred candlelight over sunlight; spirited philosophical jousting over lame frivolities; she saw the light in lunacy and embraced the macabre. She was inspirational, influential, and even invincible to some. There has never been a person on this plane of existence quite like her. We look forward to the countless hauntings she promised to so many.
She leaves behind her son, William; daughter, Mary; granddaughter, Fionna; stepdaughter, Tracy (Angelina); sisters, Kelly, Mary (Brian); brothers, Jim (Mary), John (Denise), Patrick, Michael (Robin), Kevin; as well as a clan of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and those who were touched by her mercurial madness and brilliance.
