Darryl Lee Rastetter

Darryl’s journey now has ended in Heaven where he was greeted by family and friends and all our fur babies.

Fifty-four years ago little did Darryl know his life was going to change forever. I was working in Washington, D.C. Darryl and a friend were on leave before being deployed to Vietnam – and they were in Washington, D.C. Well as fate would have it, we passed each other on the street, but there was something about this guy that interested me. I took his arm and said, “Where are we going tonight?” Did I mention I may have had a beer or two? Well anyhow here we are almost married 52 years.

Another highlight in his life were his fishing trips to Michigan—my dad (Marv), his brother (Aaron) and Darryl. The people at Big Pine Island loved when those 3 were there – they knew for at least a couple of weeks there was some good entertainment.

Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ellen Rastetter; brother, Aaron; and his father-in-law, Marv who loved Darryl as a son.

Darryl leaves behind his wife, Kathy; fur baby, Hunter; niece, Tish (Bret) Miles; nephew, Paul Rastetter; sister-in-law, Kari. And of course the Cuckoo’s Nest in Michigan, nephew, Jason Dahlke; nieces, Sarah (Mike) Moore, Seana (Mike) Guiles, Jessica Dahlke; great great niece, Macahya (she loved Uncle Darryl); and many other great and great great nieces and nephews. Also special friend, Gary Moore; Vietnam buddy, Dick Moran; Margaret Swenberg and her family (love them); and our great neighbors, Mike and Jenny, Linda and Ronnie, Scott and Kurt, Adam and Phyllis.

Darryl, my heart is breaking – not one regret being with you. I will love you always – and one day we will have eternity together. Kiss, Kiss.
