Diana Lias

Diana Lias (Bagnato), 99, went home to be with the Lord April 9, 2010. Diana was born in Popoli, Italy to the late Frank and Marie Ann Jackman. She came to this country when she was 15 months old and lived in the Akron area most of her life. She was a cheerful and loving person who loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Diana was a member of Jolly Misers, LaJoila Club, Goodrich Srs., Goodyear Srs., Golden Teenagers, Ellet Srs., Springfield Srs., St. Paul Srs. and Past President of St. Sebastian Srs. for a number of years. She was also a member of the Italian Center for 52 yrs., helped with many social events and was crowned their Mother of the Year and a faithful and devoted member of St. Matthew Parish for 37 yrs. Along with her parents, Diana is preceded in death by her husbands, Louie DeLuca, Floyd Bagnato and Richard Lias; children, Frankie and Mary DeLuca; and brothers, Greeno, Vito and Norman Jackman. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Bagnato-Williams, Gary (Denise) and David (Kathy) Bagnato; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Violet Spinelli and Dorothy Kalstrom; sister-in-law, Susanne Jackman; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10:00 am at St. Matthew Church, 2603 Benton Ave., Akron. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home, 936 N. Main Street, Akron. Diana's final resting place will be Greenlawn Memorial Park.
