Donald Winston Roberts

   Donald W. Roberts (Donnie), 80, beloved husband, father and grandfather, earned his wings June 4, 2022.  
   Don was born January 2, 1942, in Spencer, WV. He was a 1959 graduate of Spencer High School. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army before moving to Akron, OH. 
   He was preceded in death by parents, Allie E. and Elva Roberts; brothers, Kenneth (Loretta) and Gary; sister, Phyllis (Don) Harris.
   Don is survived by his loving, caring wife of 58 years, Karen (nee Kindig); son, Jim (Donna) Roberts; daughter, Jeannie (Matt) Shearer; granddaughters, Sara (Troy) Shipe, Emily Shearer; and sister, Sharon Meadows.
   Don retired in 2003 from Cotter Merchandise Storage Company with 38 years of service. He was a hardworking man blessed with a wicked sense of humor and he never shied away from speaking his mind. Working in the yard alongside the love of his life and spending time with his family were among his favorite pastimes. He never missed an opportunity to be present for any event, big or small, in the lives of his beloved granddaughters. Hunting and fishing with his buddies, trips to Amish country or playing a card game for hours brought joy to his life. His bright, warm smile and booming laughter were infectious.
   Words cannot express how much we love and miss you. Behave yourself in Heaven and keep watching over us. Rest in peace, Donnie. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family requests donations to be made in Don’s memory to the Ohio Veteran’s Memorial Park, 8005 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Clinton, OH 44216.
