Doris E. Korom, 93, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. 

We lost an Angel today…. Heaven got one of the BEST! Doris was born on Thursday April 4, 1929 to the late Russell and Rose (Matthews) Foster and lived in the New Franklin area most of her life. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1947. Doris was a homemaker extraordinaire. She loved to cook and bake for family, friends and neighbors. Doris had many talents.  She taught tailoring for many years and was an incredible artist, selling many of her works of art (paintings) at Barberton Citizens Hospital, donating her proceeds to her faith-promise at church. Doris started the Ability Belles craft club, which carried on for many, many years. She was a faithful member of Norton Grace Church and earlier at Community Church of Portage Lakes where she taught Sunday school, Encouragement Class, the Teens, was a member of the choir and was an amazing soloist. 

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her late husband of 63 years, Rick; brother, Kenneth Foster; sister, Maxine Miracle; granddaughter, Haley Marie Korom; and many other family and friends. 

She is survived by her three sons; Kent (Gisele) Korom, Randy (Terry) Korom and Scott (Katheryne) Korom; grandchildren, Karolyne and Nicholas Korom, Beatrice, Joshua, and Matthew Korom, Justin Korom, Jyll (Jonathan) Cooper, Todd (Keri) Rocco; great grandchildren; Alex and Amanda Rocco, McKennan and Kennedy Cooper, Gage and Christian Rocco, Camden and Jaxon Korom; and great-great grandchild; Connor Rocco. 

Doris loved unconditionally, supported and mentored hundreds of people over the years.  Her presence, her LAUGHTER, her love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, leaves a lasting impression on us all!

A funeral service will be held at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Bob Combs officiating. Interment at Manchester Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, Haven of Rest, or Norton Grace Church, in memory of Doris.
