Duane Francis Erks
Duane F. Erks, 76, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024.
Duane was born Friday, July 4, 1947 to the late Oscar and Irene (Nece) Erks and lived in the Portage Lakes area most of his life. He was a member of the Local Operators 18 Union and worked for several construction companies and completed many bridge and road projects. Duane served in The U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He loved building his model cars while drinking a cold Budweiser.
Duane is survived by his wife, Krystal Yvonne Erks; sons, Ron (Kim) Erks, Rick (Cris) Erks; grandchildren, Dylan (Faith) Erks, Delaney Erks, Josh Erks, Amber (Cam) Blumenschein; great-grandchild, Sevana Erks; sisters, Denielle (Keith) Christner, Donna (Steve) Ford; and many other loving family and friends.
A Service of Military Honors will be held on May 10, 2024, at 10:45 AM, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 2174.
