I had just a few encounters with Duane while I worked at the City of Akron. He would come to get a travel advance for city business travel. As expected of him, he always had the correct documentation, before and after his travels. He was so polite to me, yet very friendly. He was soft spoken, and always had a few minutes to chat. I told him once if there was ever an emergency in the City offices, I'd go looking for him! He had that " I know what I'm doing" vibe about him. I am so sorry the family has to suffer his loss. He will be remembered..

I have been working with Duane at Summit County Public Health for the last 9 years and although we didn't cross paths often, when we did we always said "Hello, how are you?" He was always cheerful and friendly, and had the sweetest smile. I did have the opportunity to work with him on a couple of small projects years ago, and he was very easy to work with and knowledgeable in his department. He was very patient, understanding, and very helpful throughout the process, and I appreciated that so much. I am so very sad and sorry. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his friends. I pray that you are surrounded by the love and support of others to help ease you during this time of sorrow. ~Cyndi T
