New Franklin - Earl George Shumaker passed away December 2, 2023 at the age of 93. He was born September 12, 1930 in Rimersburg, PA to the late Vernard Earl Shumaker and Jessie Mae (Switzer) Shumaker. Earl graduated from Clarion/Limestone High School, Pennsylvania in 1949. He served in the United States Air Force, Sheppard Air Force Base. Earl moved to Ohio in 1955 and became a proud lifetime member of The United Brotherhood of Carpenter and Jointers of America, working as carpenter foreman or superintendent on many commercial projects in northeast Ohio. He enjoyed hunting in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and out west.

Earl was preceded in death by his step-mother; Alice E. (Patterson) Shumaker; his wife of 73 years, Nellie M. Shumaker; and his half-bothers, Walter E. Shumaker and Robert E. Patterson.

He is survived by his sisters, Lois J. Passauer and Emma May Powell; half-brothers, James B. Shumaker and Thomas Shumaker; son, Randy (Jody); grandchildren, Brent (Megan) and Ryan (Angela); and 5 great-grandchildren, Luke, Owen Elise, Eliana and Mason.
