Edna Eulice Stalnaker Steele
Born in Bethlehem, WV to the late Carl and Swanee (McCombs) Stalnaker. Often moving several times due to the depression and WWII the family settled in Akron, OH. There she met the love of her life who she was predeceased by, Adam Ira Steele Jr. They were married 57 years. She retired from Ohio Edison Company with nearly 40 years of service.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings; Eugene Carl, Eunice June Steese, and Vonda Lee Bolen.
She is survived by daughter, Theresa (Terri) Steele-Austin; son-in-law, Troy Austin. Also, by one sister Eileen Carlisle Smallwood of AZ, many nieces and nephews, and her #Pittfamily4life. She often joked that she didn't think they knew her name because everyone just called her "Mom".
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd., Norton, OH 44203, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 12 p.m., with Rev. Jim Davis and Rev. David Burden officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, mom requested donations to the Adam I. Steele Family Fund in the School of Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh; attention. Missy Intrepido, 3500 Victoria St., Room 242, Pittsburgh, PA 15261.
