STOW-Edsel Secrest, 79, passed away March 3, 2007. Edsel was born in Cambridge Ohio on June 14, 1927 to the late Foster and Charlotte (McElwee) Secrest. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and served in the U. S. Navy. He loved everything mechanical and was a great fan of Thomas Edison. Edsel also was a retiree of the Portage Lakes Junior Vocational School. Edsel is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy; daughter, Marsaya (Del) Toth; grandchildren, Rachelle (Kevin), Shannon, Brandon (Nikki), Sheri (Roger) and Mike; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Scott (Judy) Secrest; and sister Jolene (Norman) Swallow. Along with his parents, Edsel is preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Lee Secrest Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be Wednesday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3450 Sycamore Dr., Stow with a memorial mass to follow at 12:30 pm with Father Paul Rosing celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care Center and Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333. A private burial will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
