A genuine altruistic man went to his eternal home in Heaven on June 24, 2022. Edward was the son of Pearl N. and Edward O. Brooks Sr. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Margaret, three older sisters, Mary (Charles) Orban, Marguerite (Norman) Feather and Pauline (Arnold) Sandmann.
Edward graduated from Central High School. After graduating in 1946 he was inducted into the Army where he served in the Occupation of Japan. He was criminal investigator of both the military and civilian offenders. Soon after serving in the Army, he began his thirty-three year career with the Ohio Bell Telephone Co. where he work in various departments and retired in 1982. He married Margaret Drosenos July 1, 1949. Marge and Ed were blessed with a daughter, Pamela Stoltz, a dedicated son-in-law, Duane Stoltz, and was preceded in death by his beloved son, John Edward. Ed was a devoted Christian, husband and father. He was a friend to everyone he met. Ed and Marge devoted their lives to many causes. They were active members of Covenant U.F. Church and later Goss Memorial Church.
He is survived by Pamela, Duane, devoted friend, John Clauser, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; also leaving numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends at Bacher Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319 on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 10 to 11 am. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Kevin Burkholder officiating. Interment will be held at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, in Peninsula.
