Edward Kanecke Jr.

Edward Kanecke Jr., 76, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022. He was born on Tuesday, December 25, 1945 in Akron, Ohio to the late Edward Sr. and Edna (Haga) Kanecke and lived in the Portage Lakes and Norton areas most of his life. Ed worked for McNeil Machine and later retired from the Akron Public Schools. He enjoyed music and camping at his cabin.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Kanecke, and sister, Donna Kanecke.  He is survived by his sister, Susan (Robert) Mitchell of Kent, OH; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ed’s family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Akron City Hospital and the staff at Altercare of Brimfield for their excellent care.

The family will greet friends at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH 44319 on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087, in memory of Edward Kanecke Jr.
