Eric John Doney

Eric John Doney, 51, passed away on March 23, 2021. He was born March 30, 1969 in Akron, Ohio to William and Sandra Doney. He worked at Kempthorn Motors as a Finance Manager. Eric loved his wife and kids more than anything in the world, except for maybe his shiny, black Silverado and a zero turn lawn mower. He also enjoyed Saturday night rock & roll sessions, golfing, fishing, UFC fight nights, his lawn, playing Uno with his daughter Taylor, talking politics with his other daughter, Katlynn, and being bombarded by his favorite 28 paws. Eric’s dream was to retire, buy a yacht, get a place in Chicago near his son and brand new grandbaby, and was anxiously awaiting to travel the world. To everyone that knew “Enrique” Doney, he was larger than life and that’s why God made him 6’4”.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Doney. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Laurie; son, Jordan (Cassie); daughters, Taylor (Taylor) and Katlynn; his mother, Sandy; brothers, Ed (Amy) and Ron (Michael); granddaughter, Ziva; many loving nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of wonderful family and friends.

Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a committal service at 1 p.m. at Clinton Cemetery, 8010 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd. For the safety of the family and other guests, masks are required, and the number of people permitted in the building at a time will be limited. Your cooperation and patience are appreciated.

Following the committal service the family will hold a Celebration of Life at Eric’s residence.
