Essie Bernadine Berg

     Essie Bernadine Berg, 98, passed away peacefully at her home on October 8, 2022. She was born December 6, 1923 in Akron Ohio to the late Addie Lou Criss and Earl Edward Williams. Essie was a "Rosie The Riveter" during WWII and had worked at the Goodyear Aircraft Plant during that time. She enjoyed baking, cooking and sewing, and had a great love for all animals, especially her three kitties. Essie had a special love for children of all ages, first and foremost her grandchildren. She was a faithful charter member of Community Church of Portage Lakes, where she faithfully served as a deaconess and Sunday School teacher.
     Essie was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad in 1998; and brother, Everett Williams. She is survived her daughters, Carol (Kevin) Woods, and Diana and Patricia; grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Nicholas, Sara, Christopher, Kristin, and Cody; many great-grandchildren; and brothers, Garry and Robert Williams.
     The family will greet friends at Bacher Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., Akron, OH on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 3 to 5 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be held immediately following at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
