Ethel Mae Douglas, 90, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 and woke up in the arms of Jesus. She was born on Saturday, January 30, 1932 in Akron, Ohio to the late Alva and Macil (Vaughn) Neff, and lived in Akron most of her life. She dedicated her life to helping others and had worked many years for the Red Cross and Haven of Rest. Ethel and her husband, Jonethan “Nick” taught Sunday School for many years and she was proud of the fact that four of her students became pastors.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Jonethan “Nick” Douglas, and son, Jeff Douglas.  She is survived by her son, Daniel (Christine) Douglas of Seville, OH; daughter, Cathy "CJ" Jenkins of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; grandchildren, Jeremy (Heather) Jenkins, Chance (Marissa) Douglas, Sunny Douglas; great-grandchildren, Elias Jenkins, Chance Douglas, Jr., Oliver Douglas; and many other loving family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at King’s Way Alliance Church, 2500 Kingsport Way, Akron, OH 44314 with visitation one hour prior.  Interment will be at East Liberty Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to King’s Way Alliance Church, in memory of Ethel Douglas.
