Eugene “Dave” Lack, 87, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021.
Dave was born on Sunday, December 31, 1933 in Akron, OH to the late Alfonzo and Cecelia (Szwed) Lack and resided with his family in Norton for 50 years. He was a graduate of East High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a Lineman for Ohio Edison for 40 years and a Life Member of the Firestone VFW Post 3383. He enjoyed golfing, a cold beer, gambling, jazz music, and dancing the jitterbug. Dave was an avid Cleveland and OSU sports fan, played the same lottery number everyday (never winning) and had a great sense of humor.
Dave was known for his generosity and his quick wit and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Along with his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Wood; sister, Sally Drexler; and brother, Jim Smith. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Toni; son, David (Kathy) Lack; daughters, Mary (Ken Cornacchione) Lack, and Julie (Dennis) Clayton; grandchildren, Amy (Josh), Bryan (Cristina), Trent, Jillian, Dylan, and Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Nora and Wyatt; and many loving family and friends.
Dave’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Norton Fire Department for all of the care and compassion.
Visitation will be Monday, November 8th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd. in Norton. Private Services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH 44106 or the Multiple Sclerosis Society at the nationalmssociety.org.
