Evelyn Kay Nelson

Evelyn Nelson, 76, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023. She was born on Wednesday, August 28, 1946 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Louis and Elizabeth (Flaker) Gumbarevic and was a long-life resident of New Franklin. Evelyn was an avid gardener, played the clarinet and loved her cats. She was a great mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Evelyn was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ken Mong. She is survived by her children, Susanne (Duane) Clark, Jeanine (Troy) Hansen; Michelle (Jeff Bowman) Moore, and Kenneth P. (Heather) Mong II; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Ruby) Gumbarevic; special friend, Margaret Knight; the Card Club girls; and many other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Road, Akron, Ohio 44319. Interment will be held at Clinton Cemetery.
