Fred L. Denning, 73, sailed into the sunset peacefully on March 25th after being lovingly cared for by family and friends. Fred's easy going manner allowed many to enjoy being with him discussing life, health, politics, sailing, Jin Shin Jyutsu, and spirituality. Fred was born on August 16, 1936, to the late Lester and Nellie Denning. He graduated from North High School and The University of Akron. He taught school in the Stow System for 33 years where he made many lasting friendships. He was lucky enough to marry Aggie and find a home on 11th Street, where neighbors quickly became like family, remaining close to this day. Shortly before retirement, he became a sailor at Atwood Lake on his Catalina 22 sailboat and again met fellow sailors who became fast friends. He was then acquainted with the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu where he helped others relieve physical pain, and felt that he did his most significant work in life with this art. Many in his JSJ Community freely gave of their time to comfort Fred during the last few months. He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Aggie, as well as his sons David (Liz Kennedy and son Robert Hart), John, (Angie) and their son Quinn, Steve (Laura), and daughter AnnMarie. Fred also leaves a brother, Ed (Brenda) and his son Gary. Special thanks to Dr. Rehmus for doing her best to save Fred, to the oncology nurses at AGMC, the staff at VNS and Hospice, to the JSJ Community, and to his dear friends and neighbors who provided so much joy and support. A special thank you to friend Paul Casenhiser, who cared for him alongside Aggie over the past two weeks. Funeral mass on Monday, March 29, 2010, at 10 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls. Calling hours will be from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, March 28 at Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home, 936 N. Main Street, Akron.
