Gayle P. Whitt

Gayle P. Whitt passed to be with our Lord and Savior on June 24, 2018. She left such a legacy of love, strength, and joy to her large family and many loved friends. Born in Kingsport, TN on September 18, 1941, she leaves behind the love of her life Garland M. Whitt. They were married for 56 years and raised four children in Manchester, Ohio.

Gayle and Garland started G & R Excavating in 1980 which is now a very successful three-generation family business. 

Gayle was a long-time member of Manchester Christian Church. 

Gayle loved gardening, reading, shopping, traveling, and lunches with friends, family and the YaYa's. She has gone home to be with the Lord and her son, Mitchell S. Whitt.

She is survived by her three daughters, Vicki L. Whitt, Deana M. Whitt (Bill Helm), Kelly J. Whitt; daughter-in-law, Kelly L. Whitt; sister, Phyllis Robinette; and nephew (caregiver), Tony Whitt. Also by grandchildren; Josh (Jessy) Capps, Andrew Pickrell, Christina (Matt) Soltis, Jessi (Joe) Makan, Steve Whitt, Blaine (Liz) Rine, Jerod Rine, Emma Whitt and Elaina Oberdorfer. Also by great-grandchildren; Kellee Pickrell, Shay Stonkus, Ciera Stonkus, Noah Makan, Carter Makan, Evie Soltis, Owen Soltis, Alice Makan, Ethan Capps and Addy Capps. Also great niece and nephew, Billy and Abbie Whitt. 

Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. 

She will be missed, but her legacy lives on through her love of family and friends.

Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Rd. on Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, June 29th, at 10 a.m. at Manchester Christian Church, 930 W. Nimisila Rd, Akron, OH 44319. Interment will be held at Canal Fulton Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manchester Christian Church, in memory of Gayle.
