George Z. Kuzmik, 87, passed away Nov. 27, 2009. George was born in Akron to the late Michael and Ann (Tokich) Kuzmik. George served in the US Army during World War II in the European Theater. He lived in Akron all his life until moving to PA 4 1/2 years ago. He was an active member of St. Martha Parish, Ralph Huff VFW post 1062 and Patterson Park's 50 Club and enjoyed playing pool and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. Along with his parents, George is preceded in death by his wife Raphael "Rae" in 2005; sisters, Zora "Chub" (Gus) Alexander and Georgina "Gina" Malanoff; brother, Alex Kuzmik; daughter-in-law, Carol Kuzmik; and sister-in-law Vivian Kuzmik. He is survived by daughters, Marianne Butler and her fiance Thomas Anders of PA and Nancy and her husband James Barrett of AZ; son, Michael Kuzmik of VA; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Pete (Ruby), Rudy (June) and Michael Kuzmik; sister-in-law Joanne Kuzmik; and many other loving family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 11:30 am at St. Martha Parish, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time on Tuesday at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON. George's final resting place will be Northlawn Memorial Gardens with military rites conducted by Ralph Huff VFW Post 1062. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Martha Church in support of the new Blessed Trinity Parish.
