Giuseppe Berlingieri, 82, went home to be with the Lord Nov. 27, 2006. Born in Cantalupo, del Santo Provincia, Insernia, Italy on Mar. 26, 1924 to the late Antonio and Lucia Berlingieri, Giuseppe came to America from Canada in 1968 and has lived in the Cuyahoga Falls area since. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and worked for General Tire for 11 years. He also worked construction in Canada for many years. Giuseppe loved his family, especially his grandchildren who affectionately call him "NONO JOE". He was an avid gardener and wine maker. He also served in the Italian Army and was a POW during World War II. Along with his parents, Giuseppe is preceded in death by his son, Nicola; brother, Frank; and sister, Elvira DiRe. He is survived by his loving wife Gina of 59 years; son, Tony (Patty) Berlingieri; daughter, Lucy Monaco; grandsons, Joseph (Traci), Carlo (Christie), Anthony, Matthew, Lanny and Brandon; granddaughter, Marissa; great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Nathaniel; daughter-in-law, Diana Berlingieri; sister-in-law, Filomenia Berlingieri; and many other loving family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 9:45 am at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 1761 2nd St., Cuyahoga Falls. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N, MAIN ST., AKRON. Giuseppe's final resting place will be Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The America Diabetes Association, 1815 West Market Street, Akron, OH 44313 or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 902 Westpoint parkway, Suite 300, Cleveland, OH, 44145.
