Gladys Moore

Gladys T. Moore, age 94, of Portage Lakes, went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2017. Gladys was born September 11, 1922, in Manchester, Ohio to the late Judson and Marion Taylor. She married Lisle on February 16, 1940. She retired from Akron Porcelain Company following 36 years of service. Gladys was a lifelong member of the Akron Baptist Temple and cherished her time in the nursery with the babies. Gladys and Lisle were fortunate to spend many winters in Sarasota, Florida. She enjoyed walking, riding bikes and visiting with many special friends at Orange Acres. Gladys loved spending time with her family, sitting on the deck watching the boats go by and cheering for the Cleveland Indians (only when they were winning). Her warm heart will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Lisle; parents, Judson and Marion Taylor; sister, Sherri; brothers, Harold (Deloris),  Harry (Jane) and Carl; daughter-in-law, Geraldine. Gladys is survived by sons, Larry (Sandy) and Lisle (Nancy); grandkids, Bobby (Julie), Todd, Rod (Chris), Erica (Matt), Justin (Tina), Kelly (Jamie), Larry; 15 great-grandkids; 7 great-great-grandkids; sister, Margaret; brother, Leonard (Lois); sister-in-law, Carol Ann.

The Moore family would like to thank Summa Home Health Care for the tender and compassionate assistance they provided for Gladys.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Road, Akron, OH 44319.  Rev. Dallas Billington officiating.
