Goldie Mae Murphy, 88, found peace as she was surrounded by family on March 25, 2020. She was born August 21, 1931 in Iona, WV to Fernando and Chlora Westfall. She was a loving and devoted wife to Jack Murphy of 42 years and is back in his loving arms. She was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple and member of the order of the Eastern Star currently known as Ravenna Chapter #46. Goldie was a sweet and loving soul, a safe place for many. She had numerous interests throughout her life but her granddaughters “were the joy of her life”.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jarriet “Jack” Ford Murphy; daughter, Sallie Murphy and sister, Jean Righter.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Patti (Darren) Blackburn; sisters, Virginia Ekins, Eleanor Martin, Wilda (Anthony) Harlow; brother-in-law, Ralph (Shirley) Murphy; great-granddaughter, Cassandra and great-granddaughter, Rose Mae; and many nieces and nephews.

A private Interment service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park on April 8th, 2020.

Friends and Family can call on July 3rd, 2020 at 4:30 pm graveside at Greenlawn Memorial Park with a celebration of life following immediately after.
