Gordon W. Bullene Sr.

Gordon W. Bullene Sr. of Pine Island, FL. went to be with the Lord on Jan. 2, 2009. Born to Wallace and Louise (Oberdich) Bullene on March 17, 1926 in Pelican Rapids, MN, he served with the U.S. Army overseas in WWII. Upon returning to MN, he married Phoebe Quick. In 1950 they moved to Akron, OH. Gordon was employed as a truck driver, and was a member of Teamsters Local 24 for 27 years. He drove the church bus and was a Scout Troop leader for the Great Trail Council. After moving to FL. in 1992, he became a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Fellow Islanders Supplying Help, and Elks. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph; and loving wife of 58 years, Phoebe. He leaves behind daughters, Vickie (Gary) Sandmann and Donna (Dave) Clark; son, Gordon Jr.; daughter-in-law Maureen Bullene; grandchildren, Kathrynn (Ray) Carmen, Allison (David) Bullene, Michael (Tasha) Sandmann, John (Rachel) Bullene, Patrick (Ellen) Bullene and Robin Clark; great-grandchildren, Grace, Andrew, and Preston; brothers, Roger and Wallace; and sisters, Freida and Lucille. Funeral services will be Thursday at 12 NOON at HENNESSY-BAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm and Thursday 2 HOURS PRIOR to service time at the funeral home. Gorgon's final resting place will be Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice of Cape Coral, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy. E., Cape Coral, FL 33909.
