Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Lud L. Ward. She is survived by her daughters, Paula (Clarence) Shaw, Joyce Ward; son, Todd (Lisa) Ward; grandchildren, Andrew Ward, Todd Michael (Hailey) Ward, Alison (Steven) Edwards, Emily (Drew) Conyers, Elizabeth (Joshua) Huffman, Ellyn (Frank) Adley; great-grandchildren, Brody and Courtney Conyers, Noah, Hannah, Harrison and Greyson Huffman, Campbel and Finnegan Adley, Myles,Parker and Oakley Ward; sister, Kathryn Lepley; and many nieces and nephews.
Hazel had a great need to provide love and to give of herself. Her family was the light of her life and her kitchen was the heart of her home. It was there that family and friends gathered for wonderful food and conversation.
Her grandchildren planned their Saturday around Maw Maw, lovingly known as their own personal short order cook. She took great delight in preparing each grandchild's favorite food dish.
The grandchildren all agree that Maw Maw's Macaroni and Cheese was the best- not only because she made it, but because she knew it brought our family together; and provided the joy, laughter, and fun that all families need.
Hazel had a very strong faith. She was often found reading her Bible and spent every evening before bed on her knees in prayer. Proverbs 31: 28-31.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the Staff at Doylestown Health Care Center, Dr. Wenger and Summa Hospice at Barberton Hospital, for the loving care shown to our mother.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley Community Church, 5700 Taylor Rd., Doylestown, OH 44230, in memory of Hazel Ward.
