Helen Louise Varvaro, 97, passed away on Oct. 10, 2018. Helen was born in Dearth, PA, to the late Joe and Anna (Jednok) Targos and lived in the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls areas most of her life. She was a faithful member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and loved spending time with her family, playing golf, playing cards with her card club and singing. In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Alexander "John" Varvaro and siblings, Mary Moravitz, Rose Lewellen, Ann Queen, Joe Targos, Irma Fallon, Dorothy Paterno, Madge Miller, Tillie Zidek, and Andy Targos. She is survived by children, Nick (Carm) Varvaro, Kathy (Mike) Neag, John Michael Varvaro, and Marlene (Dan) Pisanelli; grandchildren, Mike, Michelle (Mike), Danielle (Paul), Dan, Chris and Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Mia, Dominic, Ava, Olive and Erela; sister, Clara (Steve) Spoljarick; and many loving nieces and nephews. The Varvaro Family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls and Harbor Light Hospice for all of their compassionate care. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10:30 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 83 Mosser Place, Akron. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm at H B Moore Funeral Home, 936 N. Main St., Akron, (corner of N. Main St. and Mildred Ave.). Helen's final resting place will be Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
