Homer Alden Bonheimer

Homer A. Bonheimer, 75, passed away on September 17, 2019. He was born June 30, 1944, in Canton to the late Howard and Delmyra Bonheimer. Homer lived in Blythewood, SC and enjoyed spending summers in the mountains of North Carolina with his wife at their camper. He worked for a gold mining company in South Carolina and later retired as a salesman of giant Earthmoving tires. He had recently moved to the Portage Lakes area to spend time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons on the lakes and drinking coffee at McDonald’s each morning. 

Homer is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn; son, David (Mary) Stanfield; daughter, Michelle (Joseph) Ott; granddaughters, Amanda, Alix, Jenna, and Staci Ott; grandsons, Joshua Ott, Alden Carr “Bud” and William David Bonheimer; great-granddaughter Emma Ott, sister-in-law, Norma Fricker, and many nieces and nephews. 

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd. on Friday, September 20, 2019, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, with a funeral service taking place immediately following; officiated by his nephew, Keith Yoak

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Homer.
