05Isabelle T. McGuckin-Quaintance (Maitland), 94, passed away Jan. 16, 2010. Isabelle was born in Akron to the late Thomas and Jessie (Mitchell) Maitland and lived here all of her life. She was a faithful member of St. Martha Parish which is now the Blessed Trinity. She was a member and past president of the St. Martha Altar Society, Representative to the National Council of Catholic Women, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Parish Council Representative and Director of Funeral Meals at St. Martha, and volunteered at Loyola of the Lakes Retreat House. Isabelle loved to travel and organized many church and community bus trips. Along with her parents, Isabelle is preceded in death by her first husband of 44 yrs., Eugene McGuckin; second husband of 3 yrs., Fisher Quaintance; daughter, Maureen Snider; and sisters, Lillian Ward and Evelyn Dane. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Jim) West and Eileen (Fred) Schmitt; sons, Jim (Eleanor), John (Karen), Kevin (Monique) McGuckin; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10 am at Blessed Trinity Church 300 East Tallmadge Ave., Akron. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, with a time for prayer and sharing of memories at 7:30 pmat Hennessy-Bagnoli Funeral Home, 936 N. Main Street, Akron. Isabelle's final resting place will be Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital.
