James Ray Geonis

James R. Geonis, 96, passed away peacefully at home January 5th, 2024. James was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio. He proudly served in the US Army and retired from the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. 

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; son, Gregory (Laurie) Geonis; daughter, Wendy (David) Hawkins; grandsons; Jackson (Shelby) Geonis, Taylor Geonis, Daniel (DeLena) Hawkins and three great grandchildren.

James was an avid car & motorsport enthusiast all his life. He enjoyed his retirement years living & boating on Portage Lakes. His family and the time he spent with them was his greatest pleasure.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all that helped provide loving care for James during his time of need.

Per James' wishes there will be no public services.
