James Edward McClung

Jim McClung, 93, went home to be with The Lord, with loved ones by his side on Thursday, August 4, 2022, in Akron Ohio, of which he was a lifetime resident. Jim was born of New Year's Day, 1929.

Jim is enjoying a jubilant reunion with his loved ones in Heaven; especially his father, Reverend James Lester McClung.
Jim was a Marine Corp Veteran in the Korean War, Akron Police Officer, and retired from the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, as Security, after 40 years of service.

Jim was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed playing 18 holes at Firestone Country Club, dancing with his JoeAnn and Vicki, watching the Cleveland Browns, worshipping at The Chapel and having fun with family.
As spoken by his beloved wife ... "Jimmy, didn't we have fun!"

Guestbook

I will miss my Uncle Jimmy. He was always the life of the party, loved watching the Browns (although would often pace back and forth nervously when the score got close) and was my dad\'s great golf buddy at Firestone Country Club. May he rest in peace (unless playing 18 holes with Uncle Dale)

Dear McClung Family,
I had the opportunity to work with Jim as a member of the FTR Security team for over 7 years in the 80's......he was always a man of integrity, had a great sense of humor. and could not have been more proud of his family and their accomplishments. Professionally, he was a good mentor and listener, sharing his experience and insights, but then stepping back and respecting that the fact of the matter was one's own final decision. It was an honor to have worked with that department and especially your dad and the other officers there of his generation. God Bless you and sustain you in your loss.
