James R. Snyder, 80, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023.
Jim was born in El Centro, CA on Wednesday, April 28, 1943 to the late Robert and Helen (Blumenshine) Snyder and lived in the Norton area most of his life. Jim graduated from Norton High School in 1961 and retired in 2003 from BF Goodrich - Michelin Tire and Rubber Co.  He was a faithful member of the Norton Church of Christ and a Life Member of the Norton Historical Society.  He loved being with his family and traveling with his wife, Allis-Chalmers tractors, steam engine shows, antique cars and trains; he was very mechanical and could fix anything.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Carolle Smith.  He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patsy Snyder; son, Robert (Lisa) Snyder; daughters, Julie (Robert Lee) Snyder-Lee, and Jennifer Snyder; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Amelia (Evan), and Libby; brother, Bill (Karen) Snyder; and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Saturday at Bacher-Moore Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Road, Norton, OH 44203, with Keith Welch Officiating.  Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the funeral home in Norton.  Jim's final resting place will be Greenlawn Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Norton Historical School House, 4060 Columbia woods Dr., Norton, OH 44203.
