Janet Rae Holvey

Janet R. (Neill) Holvey, 86, joined her husband of 50 years, John “Jack” Holvey on May 20, 2022. She is also reunited with her mother, Rhea; father, Raymond Neill; and her brother, Robert Neill.

Janet was a graduate of Kenmore High School, a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Doylestown. She retired from The Visiting Nurse Service in 1969. She and Jack were avid members of the Golden Agers at Akron Baptist Temple and enjoyed taking many trips with the group. She and Jack also enjoyed fishing and hosting fish fries. Janet met monthly with the “Kenmore Girls” until her declining health required her move to The Whitewood Inn for care.

Janet is survived by her sister-in-law, Jackie Simms-Neill; niece, Jennifer (Mark); nephew, Adam (Arica) Neill; great-niece, Adyson; great-nephews, Cameron and Harrison; best friend and faithful confidant, Kathleen “Vaughn” Daniels; and nephew, Bob Kershaw.

The family would like to thank the staff at Whitewood Inn and Crossroads Hospice for their care of Janet.

A funeral service will be held at Bacher Moore Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Road, Akron, OH 44319 on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Gay Santoro officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Donations may be made in Janet’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
