Janet Witner (Terry), 80, of Norton, died peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2022 and joins her husband, Frank Witner, who passed one year ago.
Jan was the daughter of Juanita “Marie” Lamb and Herman Terry. She was born July 6, 1942 and lived in Barberton. Jan was a graduate of Barberton High School and had lived most of her adult life in Norton with her husband, Frank.
Together they had 7 children: three of Jan’s and four of Frank’s; with an added bonus of Jan’s younger sister, Melonie. Frank was the love of Jan’s life and as a couple they traveled and built a home that sustained us all through the years.
Jan’s greatest joy was helping to care for her closest grandchildren, Stevie, Peyton and Clayton. The after-school snacks, sleepovers, stir fry and dominoes were some of her fondest memories.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Frank; sister, Martha; brother, Dwayne; great-grandson, Arlo; and “Uncle”, Mort Lance.
Surviving are her children, Denice (Frank) Kachenko, Ronna Shive, Steve (Bonnie) Anderson, Donald (Melonie) Witner, David (Kristine) Witner, Beth (Todd) Quarfot, Kyle (Michelle) Witner; grandchildren, Frank (Laura) Kachenko, Peter (Tracy) Kachenko, Rick Pagniano, Alex (Louise) Kachenko, Chris (Jaquie) Kachenko, Ryan Gray, Sarah (Matt) Gradyan, Stevie (Sam) Anderson, Peyton Witner, Clayton Witner, Crystal Brant, Ashley (Tim) Monsour; and 14 great-grandchildren. Jan also leaves behind special loved ones, John Greenleaf, Wes (Laura) Perry and the Ford Family.
The family would like to thank the staff and Hospice of Pleasant View Nursing Home for their care of Jan.
A celebration of life will take place in November with details to be provided on Facebook.
