Jeanell Brode

Iva “Jeanell” Brode, 96, passed away on March 24, 2018.  She was born February 11, 1922 in a log cabin in Nickelsville, Virginia to Fraley and Nannie Vicars. Jeanell loved her chocolate fudge, whole milk, and dancing the night away with her husband of 34 years. Today, she and George are finally sharing their long-awaited dance in heaven. Jeanell was a member of Goss Memorial Church, Eastern Stars and Akron Woman’s City Club. She also frequented many South Akron Lions and local Model A Club activities with George. 

She is survived by sons, Robert (Dianne), Donald (Sally); sister, Willie Mae Davis; grandchildren, Don (Susan) Brode, Lauren (Craig) Irons, Tina (Ryan) Boyes, Amy (Damon) Moscato, Bobby Brode; 13 great-grandchildren, who called her Grandma Froggy; and loving caretakers Linda Phillips and Faye Lynn Nieder, her niece.

Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home 3326 Manchester Rd. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 1-3 p.m., where services will be held at 3 p.m., Pastor Bud Couts officiating.  Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Goss Memorial Church, 2247 11th St. SW, Akron, OH 44314 in memory of Jeanell.
