Jennie Finley, 94, of Norton, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born on February 25, 1930, to Italian immigrants Salvatore and Nunziata Agosta in Akron, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dale Finley; father-in-law and mother in law, Dale and Bernice Finley; long-time companion, Jim Finley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Louie (Kitty) Agosta, Joe (Margie) Agosta, and Tony (first wife, Joyce) Agosta; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jeanne (Cal) Smith; sister-in-law, Donna Finley; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Genet. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sandy Agosta and brother-in-law, Don Finley.
She is also survived by her children and their spouses, Bernie (Rick) Hallett, Debbie (Rocky) Genet, and Bob Finley; her grandchildren, Brian (Jen) Hallett, Mike (Angella) Hallett, Greg (Elise) Genet, and Jackie (Tony) Mohseninia; and her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Becca, and Owen Hallett; Claire and Grant Genet; and Mia and Dominic Mohseninia. They will forever hold the memory of “Nani” dear to their hearts.
Jennie touched the lives of those around her with generosity and kindness. In addition to her immediate and extended family, Jennie will be remembered by countless friends and relatives who were blessed to know her. Her greatest joy and fulfillment came from spending time with her loved ones, including Jim Finley’s family and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Summa, Barberton, for their compassionate and professional care of Jennie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Barberton, OH 44203, with visitation one hour prior. Internment will be held immediately after mass at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Prince of Peace Parish.
While we grieve her loss, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is at peace and reunited with her loved ones who have gone to heaven before her. May her memory comfort those who mourn her death, and may she rest in eternal peace.
