Jim Cummins

Jim Cummins, 93, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

Jim was born Friday, October 19, 1928 to the late John and Ida (Fowls) Cummins and lived in the Akron area most of his life.  He was past President of the Board of Directors at the Haven of Rest Ministries; he served on that board in some capacity for over 40 years. Jim was a 72-year member of National Masonic Lodge #568 (Barberton), was a 29-year member of the Valley of Akron Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, was a member of many churches throughout the area, teaching Sunday School for many years, and graduated from Hower Vocational High School.  Jim was a general contractor by trade but in 1977, he and his partner, John Herwick started the Jim Cummins Real Estate Co., the leading Industrial and Commercial real estate company in the area. He was a member of SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) and was involved in Haggai International. 

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Rose Marie Cummins; and sister, Millie (Clarence "Red") Lewis.  He is survived by his current wife of 16 years, Betty Santilli-Cummins; daughters, Terri (John) Fleming and Connie (Bob) Raskow; grandchildren, Jamie (Jennifer), Jodie (Mike), Shannon (Keith), Michelle (Ryan), and Scott; great-grandchildren, Kadence, Emersyn, Jonah, Luke, Brock, Parker, Olivia, Aiden, Charlotte, Jillian, Avery, and Quinten; and many other loving family and friends.

Funeral Service will be Friday, 2:00 pm, August 26, 2022 at the Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44308, with Pastor Jeff Kaiser, officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, August 26, from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the Haven of Rest Ministries.  Jim's final resting place will be Greenlawn Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44308.
