John Dwight Brown Sr. (Jack), born in Mount Vernon, raised and graduated from Barberton High School, was called home to the Lord on October 12, 2022, peacefully surrounded by family.

Jack served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant, supporting the Rangers as a radio operator, honorably discharged.

He enjoyed his retirement fixing anything mechanical and being the host to family & friends who would visit. No one left hungry or feeling left out. He was a true caregiver having a servant’s heart.

Jack married the love of his life, Annetta Brown and had three children. Jack lived life helping others, owned his own barber shop in Cuyahoga Falls for 18 years, worked at Twinsburg PPG, and 19 years at Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills, Ohio. At Ford he was a material handler, “Hooker” for crane operators and later on the cleaning crew.

Jack is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annetta; three children, Jack (John) Brown Jr. (Karen), Greta Brown and Kelly Brown (Heidi); along with four grandchildren, Jacob (Gabby) Brown, Joshua (Nathan) Brown, Morgan (Iain) Hamilton, and Zachary Brown; one great-grandchild, Corynne Rosemary Brown,  sister, Jane (Paul) Strelbicki, along with nieces and nephews, Debborah (Edwin) Schaufele, Denise (Terry) Marich, Heather Krieghauser, Anna Ligas, Daniel Ligas, Scott (Krista) Adamson, Eric Adamson, Bob Adamson, and Judy Adamson; many cousins, as well as a dear friend of the family, Evelyn Burkardt.

Jack also was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Rotary club. 

A private family service will be conducted at a later date.
